Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Bailey Hague Joinery Ltd is committed to making our website (baileyhaguejoinery.co.uk) accessible to as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor or cognitive impairments. We are targeting conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

This statement applies to this website only. It does not cover third-party content or services we link to, such as Google Maps, Certass, HomePro or review platforms.

What we've done

Steps we've taken so far to make this site more accessible include:

• Alt text — descriptive alternative text on our photographs of completed windows and doors, so screen reader users understand what's shown
• Keyboard navigation — the site can be navigated using a keyboard alone, including the main menu, quote form and footer links, with visible focus states
• Colour contrast — our text and background colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for normal and large text
• Semantic structure — headings, lists and landmarks (header, navigation, footer) are marked up so assistive technology can interpret the page structure correctly
• Readable typography — clear font sizing and line spacing throughout, and text that resizes properly when you zoom your browser
• Descriptive links — link text that makes sense out of context, rather than generic phrases like "click here"
• Form labelling — visible labels and clear error messages on our quote and contact forms

Known issues

We want to be upfront about where this site currently falls short of full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We are actively working through the following:

• Some older project photographs may not yet have fully descriptive alt text — we are auditing and updating these on a rolling basis
• A small number of embedded third-party elements (such as the Google Maps location embed on our contact page) are not fully accessible and are controlled by Google rather than us
• Some PDF documents (such as brochures) may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers — where possible, we provide the same information in accessible HTML form on the page itself
• Video content, where used, may not yet have captions or transcripts for every clip

We are working to resolve these issues and will update this statement as improvements are made.

If you find any part of this site difficult to use, or if you use assistive technology and hit a barrier we haven't listed above, please tell us. We take this seriously and will do our best to fix genuine issues or provide the information you need in another way.
